The Hannon Family
In the words of one Hannon Family member, growing up in a family with 11 siblings they were taught by their wonderful parents to “always be thankful, always show gratitude.” Life required teamwork, “working together for the greater good.” And though life was good, during difficult times they were taught that “the only distance between what you want and what you get is what you do.” What this family wants is to help their community, one family at a time. It’s evident during Foundation events, where four generations gather, that Family IS the Hannon Foundation.
How We Started
Our 2015 golf tournament was the inspiration for creating the foundation. The tournament was held in support of the 2-year old son of a friend who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. The money raised at that tournament allowed dad to take time off work to be with his son during chemotherapy, scans and transfusions, and to spend time with the rest of his family. Nicholas remains in good health and has no evidence of disease!
There are stories like this everywhere, and we were inspired to keep going. And so the Foundation was formed.
